Results of My 30 Day Experiment
As noted in this previous post, I was on my own for the month of October. No one to cook for except myself. No one cooking for me. No excuses available as to why I might eat when not really needing to. I was curious what - if anything - would happen. Now I know. Not only did I lose weight but also lost almost any interest in food itself. Like, I have no interest in food.
This is a total game changer. It's like a lifelong burden has been lifted. And now I see clearly that food is no more than fuel for me. As it should be. As it should always have been.
Gone is the fog of carbohydrate-induced obsession with what to eat next. Now, to be clear, my relationship with food has changed dramatically since starting the ketogenic, low carb/high fat diet in January 2014. But the last month has taken that change to a different level. I truly don't care about eating. Not at all. Honor bright and pinky swear. This is a revelation. I wish I could share it with anyone who struggles with recurring, distracting thoughts of food. Freedom from food. What a wonderful thing. Food is really not the boss of me.
And for those you keeping track of the numbers, I'm down 91.4 pounds with 9.3 left to go. Amazing, I must admit.
I’ve been fortunate to have exposure to leading researchers, physicians and journalists regarding the ketogenic diet, also known as LCHF (low carb/high fat). We are all responsible for our own choices, including what we put in our mouths. I welcome questions, comments and even civil criticism. I’m still learning. So, if you have something to add, go for it. Thanks! - Casey
